Geek tools. If we were to find expression for my passion for tools, is what would be the closest to reality:). Always trying to improve my technique and especially to facilitate my work, I present to you today "The Chopper II" NWSL . I came across this tool on sites specialized in model railways.
This is actually a miniature cutter equipped with a wide blade knife (kind of tools to clean the putty for glass tiles ...). All this fits in a metal block of 18 cm square of space on what maximize the workshop. Here is what one finds in the box:
The frame includes a cutting mat self-repair ("Self Healing Cutting Mat"). The cutter may move on its axis, it comes with two brackets to guide the cutting angles on conventional (30 ° -45 ° -60 ° -90 °).
These two brackets are fixed against a rail to ensure the fixed reference. For other angles, one can easily adjust the brackets without the use of rail to achieve the desired angle.
I have not received the package but on paper, the advantages of this tool compared to a simple modeling knife in my opinion are:
- The accuracy of the A cutting angle
- pressure perfectly vertical
- Re-utisabilité: plan your angle once and for all sections of the same.
- cutter blade universal, easily maintainable and changeable
- The seriousness of the mark
- Only suitable for thin (\u0026lt;1mm) and small parts (\u0026lt;size of the blade) .
- Pricing: In the 50 € in U.S. imports on ebay, including postage.
short, it feels good, on paper this is not an essential tool, but rather more generally improving the quality and productivity of its creations. The comments I have read here and there on this tool are extremely positive, then it remains for me to wait patiently for my package, and you make a comeback after being taken over!
The following receipt!
PS: Hey, even a brand that is yellow and green everywhere ... :)
